Aging Hands
The hands are one of your most fundamental ways you interact with the world. You write with them, drive with them, speak with them, cook with them, work with them. You may even use your hands to make art, or to embrace your loved ones. Strangely enough, this important body part is often overlooked when it comes to aesthetic alteration. Many people focus on correcting the signs of aging in the face and neck, but leave their hands untreated.
This is particularly problematic for people trying to fight back against the signs of aging. Because the hands are just as vulnerable to external damage as the face, the skin there can become thin and crepe-like.
We’re proud to offer our patients that are tired of letting their hands reveal their age an effective, non-invasive solution: RADIESSE® hand rejuvenation. This product is the only injectable dermal filler that is FDA-approved to help add volume to aging hands. It involves little to no downtime and brings patients results that can last for over a year.
How Does RADIESSE® Hand Rejuvenation Work?
RADIESSE® is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel. Once injected, the product is gently massaged into the hands. Nearly instantaneously, RADIESSE® provides short term wrinkle and volume correction to the treatment area. Over time, these CaHA microspheres are metabolized, stimulating the body to produce more of its own collagen. Collagen, a vital structural protein found in the skin, is responsible for how thick, tight, and toned the skin is.
What Can I Expect from Treatment?
The entire injection session usually takes no longer than 20 minutes to complete and involves little to no downtime. While swelling is common immediately after receiving RADIESSE®, it usually subsides within 24-hours of the procedure. When compared to other injectables, patients often find RADIESSE® treatments to be relatively pain-free because the product is indicated with lidocaine, a mild anesthetic.
Nearly any patient interested in correcting sun damage, laxity, or excessive boniness in their hands is a potential candidate for RADIESSE® hand rejuvenation.
